I've heard that the Rumours have been spread by the Pepe Reina camp. He wants out and fancies moving to London, he wants Champions League football.

Hart to Fulham

Schwartzer to Liverpool

We didnt need to, it was clear he wanted the move and was doing almost everything he could behind the scenes to get it. Same will happen next summer most likely.

I know it was clear he would have liked to join Barca but he hardly done almost everything to push a deal through. All he done was speak to Wenger and then publically said that Wenger would handle the situation.

At no point did he make his position at Arsenal untenable by whining in the press or continually stating he wants to leave.

The stories about Arsenal bidding for Reina is old news, it was on a few Liverpool forums before the WC.

Reina's loyalty to Liverpool is rock solid. Not only is he a top keeper but he's a top guy too :cool:

I find that mahoosively unlikely, I would really really love to see a solid piece of evidence of that. Reina has made no secret to date that he utterly loves life in Liverpool, both in the city and at the club. I suspect that such a rumour could only possibly have originated from the bottom of an empty beer glass in a london pub.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than just a rumour. Arsenal probably thought there was half a chance with our 'financial problems' and with Rafa leaving.

As you say though, Reina was never likely to leave even if a bid was accepted.
 
I really couldn't see Wenger offering anywhere near the amount of money for Reina that's being reported so it would more than likely include a player as well and Arsenal don't have a single player worth losing Reina for.
 
Fergie was at Craven Cottage today when we played Werder Bremen, watching Ozil I assume. Or a big money signing of Zamora? :p

Zamora, Wilshere and Gibbs have been called up. Great, I now despise England internationals again. I will be immensely annoyed if Wilshere comes back injured.

Certianly would be nice. Always rated Reina highly but I think its a bit of a "erm what shall we put on the back of the paper today?" report.

I would quite like Hart. CL football would only do his England career a world of good.
 
The rumours of Hart of Green seem to linger a lot, but I think Schwarzer wants to stay anyway. Rather sign a striker, centre mid and a left back though. Not sure who for left back...but Ireland, Bellamy and then someone like a better Santa Cruz would be nice, Carew ideally!
