****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

Personally (and its just my opinion) I dont like any of the above I would rather learn the damage zones by practice and I found the extended zoom really annoying.

I've been following this texture overhaul. Its not to everyone's taste but the water effect is amazing (albeit with a slight fps hit which doesnt bother my 670).

Shockz - Texture Overhaul Project

He has started to change one or two of the desert maps to night ones. Sounds strange but it kind of works well. IMHO.

oooo didnt realise you could mod WoT.

Anyone got any good recommendations for some? I saw a mod which changes the aim and the names on the team lists to have flags behind them but thats it.

Jumbo (or is it Jimbo) Crosshair mod with the countdown timer/sniper crosshairs
My Own music mod - Doctor Who Music (new series)
The Shockz texture one above and thats it I think

The mods I use are a percentage/damage mod, XVM and a damage indicator mod (flashes your screen grey and points in the direction you were shot from). My mods can be seen in action on most of my Youtube Videos.

There's nothing that obvious, but they are small things.

I'd consider the hitbox mod and the zoom out mod cheating tbh.

I'd personally say that the mod that tells you where you've been shot from is more cheating then the hitbox skins. The hitbox information is freely available info, the hitboxes just mean you don't need to have a monster brain to remember it all. I used to use them until I became familar with weak points, it's more a learning aid.

How is pointing in the rough direction cheating? It doesn't actually make the person shooting at you suddenly obvious, especially as if you use your ears you can generally hear it anyway....

I'm using this mod pack TilDeath AIO mod pack. It's linked from the official forums and used by a lot of people so there's deffo nothing that's currently considered cheating in there.

Includes:
Custom Login
WWII Pinup Custom Garage
Crew Pak
Hit Log (outgoing and in coming damage)
Dead White Tanks
Jimbo's
Scope Shadow Remover
Authentic Gun and Artie Sounds
HD Mini Map (with tank icons, last know position)
Zoom Out
Accurate Damage Indicator
Stastistics (lower right showing wins/losses etc)
Wot Stastics

Some of them are really handy and allow you to play a better game

I hate it when people do a mod pack and dont explain what each one does.

Its like they have gone round and nicked other peoples mod's and put them into one nice package to get the kudos for putting them altogether oh thats really lovely what a nice people when they've not really done owt.

TELL US WHAT THEY FRICKIN DO THEN WE CAN TELL YOU WHETHER IT WAS WORTHWHILE

I dont want to go hunting round to find out what each one does I cant be bothered with them to download/install follow the convoluted install instructions only to find that 75% is crap or not what I wanted anyway

(Looks like the op got some kind of warning in the red text)
When I used to do BF1942 ones I took the time to properly explain what each mod did in the original post and clear install instructions so that people could choose to download them and make an informed decision.

<rant mode off>

:) phew

Also I`m not having a go at you DanF but how do you know its used by a lot of people when there are only 47 replies to the post and some are not unique ?

There are over thousands of WOT players.

Yeah those zoom mods are "illegal"

Also if some are really handy and allow you to play a better game can you provide examples and reasoning ? Thanks

Maybe I phrased what I said badly. I don't think either are cheating, however, what I disagree with is calling the hitboxes cheating, and the the mod that tells you the direction you've been shot from as not cheating.

Theres already a more basic version of it in game anyway

That's a poor statement to justify it (I assume you were referring to this :) ), using that logic I could claim the arty hack is not cheating :p.

Huh? He thanks all mod creators, states he has only put them all together and has a page listing all the mods with screenshots.

Well the painted tanks mod does make it a lot easier to render armour useless. You could argue it's a learning tool (and one that if my brother makes it to higher tiers I may install for him, though he's a special case - seriously) and I even installed it for 3 days over a year ago, but generally most people should not need it to learn about weak spots. The Mod for direction of damage dealt does not render camo useless and isn't 100% accurate anyway, you cannot get a kill from that information. Plus I usually take most damage from arty so it pointing skyward is useless info... ;)

And yeah Nuttah I agree, all arty players are hacking anyway with their hand of God. :p

Of course, just to play devils advocate, if the damage direction mod offers no benefit then why even install it? :D
