Well I had an interview today and I've never felt so stupid. I hate being asked questions on stuff that you can't really prepare for - I'm talking technical questions.

See how it goes, but I'm really not enjoying my current job and feel pretty low about it all :(

Anyone else doing something they hate with avengence?

Commuting! That's a killer, I can't quite describe how much I hate sitting in the car for 1.5 hours to go to work. :(

As for interview, you can either look at it as "experience" or live in hope. Is there no chance you could have blagged some of the answers? If you've came across as a decent person, might get lucky.

I had an interview yesterday and thought it went quite well, obviously didn't as I wasn't offered the job. Anywhoo after my intitial disappointment I thought I'd email them today for a bit of feedback and basically got a reply that told me to F-off as I should have asked when they phoned me yesterday. Now I'm sorry but when someone says unlucky and you really thought you had a chance the last thing I want to hear are the reasons as it feels like they're rubbing it in. If thats they're attitude I think I'm best off out of there anyway!

Surely though they're the exact things you need to know to be proficient at that job?

Yeah, but you can never be sure what specific questions they will ask. If it happens to be one of the few things he's not wholly clued up on..you can be your bottom dollar that's what they'll ask about. Horrible feeling.

Good luck though OP.

sometimes they are not looking for the correct answer, but logical thought process as to how you could get to the right answer. also, they like to see that you would be able to go and find the answer or be able to ask others for help should you need it.

there is far more to a question than just the actual answer ;]

Technical questions are usually ramped up to test your knowledge to it's limits. This is so they can gauge how much you are worth. Just because you had difficulty doesn't mean you're stupid - it either means they're looking for some hardcore geek, or they were just pushing you.

Either way it's an experience, most interviews are evil, just move on, you'll find something that clicks sooner or later.
