Oh ****, snow!

Finally got some actual snow in Plymouth, about 3cm or so, drove into town and back and happened upon an empty carpark on the way home where I had some fun :D

Impressed with how non-useless my car has been so far, even made it up the hill

I snow busted it down to Tesco after them Tesco delivery swine let me down!

just been stuck on the M5 for hours. Needed to nip down to Bristol to pick up a compressor, on the way back we hit traffic about 4 miles from the M42 junction, and it took about 3 hours to get to the M42. In that time they had shut the M42, and reopened it. They reopened it about 5 minutes before we reached the junction... otherwise we'd still be stuck somewhee around Brum:D

I take back every harsh thing I've ever said against the Freelander and its not-proper-offroader-ness :p The F2 has an awesome array or electronics that means I can crawl up really steep slopes with no feet on the pedals and no wheel slip at all :D

[4x4ego] Its just all these other fools in the way that are the problem now :p [/4x4ego]

Is that a massive lump of snow/ice between you and the red car? Or a guy on a motorbike frozen to death?

Guy on a motorbike, nah pile of snow on my bonnet.

What was most annoying was people doing 10mph on the M58. If you did 30 you could keep moving, but behind them I kept stopping and having to feather the clutch in second for a bit to get going again. Then we'd come across a stuck HGV and I could sneak past them and continue to cruise, or surf un the undertray.

The one time in the whole year i can make use of 4x4 and my wipers kept blowing its fuse  so thats now stuck on the drive untill all the snow clears.
However i took it out round the block when it stopped snowing and its amazing how much of a difference it really makes when getting off from a standstill!

3cm? That's not real snow!

Been using the F1zzz on sheet ice, car copes fine, same with snow too.

Turning off traction control does make it all slidey fun, entertained myself a bit in the car park at work before I left with TC off, drifting about. Had TC on when I got home and up a sheet ice hill the car was trying to wheel spin and cutting power, went up the hill at a steady ~5mph without sliding about at all or slowing or wheelspinning properly.

40 ish miles getting home from london, after a heavy night out, took over 4 hours.

i was in the mk3, so no TC or ABS, but most noticably, no ELSD

london was completely untreated but everyone still got about. helped a few RWDers up hills otherwise wed have got no where, yet still everyone sat in their cars and watched (southerners for you)

then we got back into essex. was going 60mph at that point and then everything was a complete standstill.

ive said it before, the driving standards in essex are the absolute worst i know of, and essexers prove it everytime, beyond question, the moment it snows

Just been from Winchester - Herts and the difference is massive, judging from the build up at the sides of the road, Herts has had less snow than Winchester has, but the roads are terrible! In Winchester - everything was clear!

We got a tonne of sheet-ice with around 2 inches on top.

Dad's Lexus couldn't getup the incline (about 5degrees) to our drive! :o Fine once if got going though, and the drifts were a fun experience.
