Oil leak.....help required.....

Hi Chaps!

Ok, I am a total newbie when it comes to cars. I purchased a clio 1.2 16v 51 plate 6 weks ago and now its developed an oil leak!

I noticed it the other day, and took a peek under the bonnet, its all over the place.

It was on the bonnet hood, on the engine cover. too many places to mention(I dont know most of it) so I cleaned it all down.

Took her for a spin today and had another look, its all over again!......

I phoned the garage and they said to call back tomorrow as its easter monday and the mechanics are off........

where is the leak coming from guys???????????

I have checked the dipsticks its even on the top of the stick.........

have you checked that the oil filler cap is still on?

check the dipstick is "clicked" in tightly. Check Oil filler cap, and all oil hoses near the top of the engine.

Could be coming from absolutely anywhere, cant really help, best bet is to take it to renault.

OK, done the checking, dipstick clicked in, oil filler cap correct, all sems in order.........

Its strange as it looks like is has sprayed all over.......

try revving the engine in neutral with the bonnet up and try and see where its coming from maybe?

make sure you dont have yer face right over the engine though

Most importantly before you continue to drive it, check the oil level. You dont wanna be driving around with just 2 teaspoons of oil in the car.
