when i first passed my test i was **** scared of the police, but now if they're doing under the speed limit i'll pass them or if there doing the speed limit i'll do about 5mph faster just till i'm a bit ahead and then speed up again.
never really seen a police car on country roads ect. though. only dual carriageways.

Most of the ones I've come across sit at about 65mph so no problem overtaking them. Then again it's not like my speedo would be accurate anyways.

Just switch on your flashing lights and wave as you go by. Don’t tell me you’d just sit slightly behind him doing 30. I wonder what you have to hide. :p

A friend of mine was banned for 12 months becasue the police had to catch up to him at 125mph and stated that was the speed he was travelling in court. He was also convicted of "racing" another car when simply it passed him at a greater speed but was never stopped. My friend was speeding, but he wasn't doing 125mph, more like ~80 in a 60. They stopped him (Merc) but not the Astra that he was apparently racing. No speed camera recorded the offence, it was all on the officers word who was in an un marked Fiesta. pretty sad really, but as my friend was young and had a nice car they made an example of him.

sounds like your friend admitted to things he really shouldnt have.

make them work for their money. apparently the police once had to do 110+ to catch me one night and apparently i had continued to pull away from them (over the brow of a hill), they asked how fast i was going.

"around about the speed limit, not quickly at all"

"why did we have to do 110 to catch you up when you went over the hill?"

"i think you must have been following a different car"

there is a 40mph road that lead up to my place, about a mile long, i was travelling along there (after the aforementioned hill) when these coppers came haring up behind me.

apparently they had run out of tickets otherwise they would have "done" me. in reality they just didnt have any evidence, they didnt even know that they were chasing

The problem is, if you take that attitude and they DO have evidence of you speeding, then they're probably more likely to prosecute than if you admit it straight off the bat and appear regretful of what you've done.

What was his reason for pulling you over?

For what reason?

Making me think now, was about October last year :D

When i overtook him he swooped in behind me trying to make me "race". I knew he was undercover so i just stuck at 40. I went over one roundabout (where roadworks was going on) around 30 then onto another dual carriage way that was NSL then pulled me on the next island.

He asked for my license and if i was insured and taxed all good, i told him i was insured and handed over my license. He then said he stopped me to tell me to slow down a bit due to the roadworks and also it was a "random stop" :o

I still think it was because he got overtook by a 1.3 :D

Surely it's because overtaking is irresponsible, dangerous and provocative much like having the audacity to use lane 2 when merging :p

ive had that many times... undercovers baiting you to race

in fact if it happens again i feel like pulling them up on it and having a quick word about them driving like that
