I took this photo in the states last year:

The shadow ruins the photo a bit, but I'm quite pleased with it overall.
 
I quite like the shadow on the right but the one in the top left is offputting, is this what you meant? Good shot anyhow.
 
Wow i love this shot, great location :cool: Shame about the shadowing it is slightly off putting.

Can i ask what equipment you used on this photo as i love the colours of the sky and the yellow on top of the gas pump. Plus its nice and sharpe.
Did you use some sort of filter?

99% sure the effect is achieved through post-processing. Boost contrast, boost saturation, mess with curves (dropping the midtones perhaps) and bobsyeruncle.

Try it, it's fun and it looks neat :)

Thanks. :)

I used a polarising filter to get a deep blue sky. The colours are from post processing. I increased contrast with an s-curve, and then applied a hue layer (black) with probably 30% opacity.

Looks very similar to a lomo action.
