I've got some old video camera tapes I want to try and get onto my PC,whats the best way to get them from my camcorder to my PC?

My old video camera is a Samsung VP-W60 which takes the extinct 8mm cassettes....

depends if u have something to take a video/audio input connected to your pc.
i didnt but i had upgraded to a dv camera which took video/audio...so i sent the video/audio to the dv camera and recorded it onto the dv tapes.

then it was just a case of connecting the dv camera to the pc and using choice of software to edit

i've got an AV out, so guessing I need a lead. How will I be able to convert the tapes, will I still need a capture card? Sorry totally new to this...

yeah, capture card or tv cards usually can do it....look on fleabay or similiar, they go for under a fiver! If you can get an av-lead, then with card you can import video in, edit it, then convert to dvd
