Olympic Plates / Bars / KettleBells

Price mate, £50 for a 16kg kettlebell makes my eyes pop!
EDIT - Morba that link is fantastic! If only they stocked olympic ones with the |_| handles rather than the /_\ ones :(

Would you mind showing me an example of what you mean regarding the handles? E.g which ones are perfect for you?

Also i would assume that most of you guys would always buy your discs in pairs?

In this line of products and similiar, is there any consumable items you guys get through?

Powerhousefitness have kettlebells on the cheap everynow and then nice big handles.

As for consumables chalk springs to mind. Shorts/trousers (joking) for those of us with plenty of 'badunkadunk' which busts out when squatting. Having said that getting hold of chalk for me was a bit difficult as I wanted a bag not sticks or balls and just in general the websites were pants and delivery was a joke. So if you get some chalk (magnesium carbonate) then I'd buy from you.

Dipping belts & Straps might also be an idea.

Plates tend to be brought in pairs though not always as they might be added to a pulley or cable stack as opposed to a bar.

What will mark you out as a good shop (in this market):

Cost
Speed of delivery
Range of items
Cost of delivery.

If you can compete in all those areas (lots of online shops now!) then you will be onto a winner tbh.

Being able to pick when you want the item delivered with a time slot am/pm or even hour slot if you can will help 10 fold.

Nothing worse than not knowing when a delivery is coming, or it coming on the wrong day or at the wrong time. I'm sure you know how a **** courier will reflect badly on you as a company. Any companies I've delt with where premium delivery has been paid for but not recieved I've always had refunded.

Edit: Resistance bands could also be another item you stock, a lot of people don't use these but on the occasions I have I rate them quite highly.

I understand what you're saying but my experiences have shown that for this product line in question, most people wouldnt want to spend extra to define a morning or afternoon slot if base delivery is free (which it will be).

Also i would assume that one would need a bench to make the most use out of an olympic bar / plates, otherwise they would be buying the standard bars?

What I meant was if a timeslot/dayslot was specified and included within the basal charge for delivery this would be very good. As opposed to paying extra for the privalege :)

Generally speak most people will have powerracks, squat racks, stands or just a lifting platform. A bench isn't essential though.

Generally speaking people serious about lifting and who I would consider 'trained' would only buy 2" olympic equipment due to the heavy duty-ness of it. It's a standard thing really to me.

1" plates and standard bars are the sort you'll get from Argos for people looking to get started. Nothing wrong with them. I'm not sure which the bigger market is really?

The problem with heavy deliveries is that you dont want a neighbour to take them, or for them to be returned to a depot.

Knowing for sure when someone will be in for delivery would be a good thing imo :)
