Really.

Standard C2D HSF... how the hell do I get it off the motherboard?

Is there a special way to prise the legs apart that go through the mounting holes in the mobo? Ie the four black/white legs each corner that interlock.

Don't want to break the cooler in the process, its the only S775 I have at the moment...

You have to rotate the black bit of the peg thing a bit, then pull it and you should get a nice click sound. If not, rotate a bit more and pull a bit again. That should work, it worked for me anyway
