My Palit GTX 580 reached 850 core 1700 shader stock voltage.

I run my games at 835 core 1670 shader and is very stable.

Raised the voltage to 1100 managed to get 890 core 1780 shader. I then completed 3D Mark Vantage, Heaven v2.1 and 3D Mark 11, all with no issues.

Really happy with my results and tbh i wont be pushing it any further.

I had those check effect on a 5770 gav was dodgy gfx memory i think hence poor o/c prob.

I had a really crap GTX480 that would not pass 730MHz with stability. Even though it played all games fine at stock speeds, it still annoyed me.

However, both of my Gainward 580's have been pretty good. Both will do 860MHz on stock volts and 930 & 940MHz at the limit with stability. It's all luck of the draw, but 830MHz from a GTX580 is the worst I have heard of. Perhaps the PSU does not deliver enough Ampage?

For about the same price as what you payed for your EVGA 580, you get 580 ball busting performance from 6950 crossfire, and with weekly updated profiles from AMD they should run great.

How many 580's is this so far?

Either your incredibly unlucky with the cards your getting or something else is going on. Is it throttling perhaps, not a power issue looking at your sig.

Well count yourself lucky tbh my card is a good overclocker but has a huge problem with temps i can overclock it to 850 core 1700 shader or keep it to default but after a few mins playing it overheats and i am in the process of rma'ing it,

My psu is a hx1000 corsair so no issues there, the card was a poor very poor clocker end of

----

and the place i got it from have had one left in stock since thursday when i bought it, just looked now, and there are 2 in stock, i wonder if they put mine back into stock ?
