I just bought some old dpc bits off a mate. I got a DFI Lanparty NF4 Motherboard with a 4200Dual core processor and a Leadtek 7800GTX.

It all runs perfectly and booted and installed windows a treat. The problem is i have a widescreen monitor that runs at 1440x900. I struggled around trying to get the resolution right then i checked the Leadtek website........

These are the only supported resolutions, so the display never shows clear!

Resolution Colors(bits) Vertical Refresh Rate(Hz)
640x480 8/16/32 240/240/240
800x600 8/16/32 240/240/240
1024x768 8/16/32 240/240/200
1152x864 8/16/32 200/200/170
1280x960 8/16/32 170/170/150
1280x1024 8/16/32 170/170/150
1600x900 8/16/32 150/150/120
1600x1200 8/16/32 120/120/100
1920x1080 8/16/32 100/100/85
1920x1200 8/16/32 100/100/85
1920x1440 8/16 85/85/75
2048x1536 32 75/75/60

Is there anything i can do or am i completly up (*&^ creek? Im really gutted beacause the computer is running great.

Any help would be amazing.

Thanks
Alastair

You can set up a custom resolution in the nVIDIA control panel or in powerstrip, don't worry about it!

:Edit: I'd star that sweary out entirely if I were you :p

In the nvidia control panel at the bottom of the expanded "*name of your 3dcard*" menu, there should be "Custom resolutions"

Here is a screeny:

You should be able to just set the resolution to 1440x900 without the need for a custom res. I am using the 81.95 drivers with my 7800GT and haven't had any compatibility issues.

What display is it - if there is a monitor deffinition file for it - should solve all your problems... make sure you DO have the latest nVidia drivers also...

Its the Belinea 1925S1W 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver.

I have actually got it working at 1440x900 - i dont quite know how. I think it was power strip but the refresh rate will not go above 61.

Also when i rightclick and go to nvidia the screen goes black for five secs and then displays again?? This happens at a few other times too?

I have two 19" monitors running together ones a 1280x1024 the 2nd dispaly is my widescreen one. Its never been a problem befere?

Thanks for the help

60hz is the max. refresh rate for most LCD monitors.

I have the same monitor, its good apart from the lack of height adjustment and you have to be firm with the buttons occasionally, but at the price you cant complain. Its not DVI, and as my understanding goes, that limits you to 60Hz.

PK!
