Did a quick search and it seems that Noctua and Nexus/Yate Loon fans are all the rage these days. Are they really much better than Panaflo fans, which used to be the holy grail of silence on these forums up until a couple of years ago? Come to think of it, what about Papst fans? I remember those used to be considered quality as well...

I realise you can't get Panaflos in this country as easily, but I've found I can import them cheap enough that, even with shipping, I wouldn't be spending much more than if I were to buy a Nexus from the UK.

The Noctua sure seems to be one of the best of the Silent oriented coolers out there. He had a good write up over at Andantech the other day.

It is pretty silent and it also gives you some room to overclock if you feel the need to :)

Need a 92mm and there don't seem to be any Noctuas of that size (just need the fan, got a heatsink, and I haven't seen 92mm Noctua fans sold separately), so my choices are Nexus, Panaflo or Papst. :)
