Hi all, went for an 8 mile walk today (carrying a 24lb rucksack) in training for my DoE (Duke of Edinburgh) expedition. I thought that i would take my camera along with me and i only really took one good shot and thought i'd share it. It's had quite a bit of processing done to it btw. C&C welcome.

1) A piece of farm machinery i spotted

I like the composition, but the blown out sky is distracting. Have you boosted the exposure a lot in post processing? Can we see the original?

is that an example of rule of third? I am new to photography you see.

is the picture over exposed and there is lots of noise?

Was the image slightly out of focus? It looks like you've sharpened it quite a lot to make up for either poor focus or cropping. Looking at the fullsize, the focus doesn't look sharp, but it's been oversharpened afterwards. I like the composition and it has the potential to be a great photo, but the poor focus (or over cropping) & sharpening bring it down in my opinion.

AdWright: I tried to 'lomofie' this picture from the guide to fake lomography tutorial posted on this forum (Click here for the link to the tutorial).

China Man: I'm sorry but i don't totaly what the rule of thirds is myself, i just saw the piece of machinery, set up the composition and took the picture.

Regards to the lomography, the following link will show you some other lomofied pictures i have done which have been followed to the tutorial exactly. In the picture that i posted in this thread, i upped the saturation and contrast at the end.

Here is the link to the original (full size)
And if anyone wants to mess about with the original then please feel free to do so and repost it on here :)
