One motor bike with different insurance companies

Hay all.

Not sure what is the best way to go about this but i would like to let my m8 borrow my bike for a few weeks as his bike needs some work doing to it.

And atm he has got to stay a his mums 5-6 night a week for work making him being away from his family all that time.

I already have insurance 3rd party fire &theft and he already has the same on his broken bike.

Can he just change his insurance to my bike so we both insured to ride the bike but on different insurance companies.

That way he can pay it at his end make life easier for me.

Is that legal if it is would i need to tell my insurance what i am doing ?

I think you have to tell your insurance anyway so maybe it's a good idea to call them now and ask what the best solution is?

Cheers yeah i am going to call them up in a bit just did not want them trying to sell me second rider insurance if there no need for it

I'm pretty sure you can't insure the same vehicle with two companies, regardless of the number of drivers.

Add him to your policy and get him to foot any insurance premium hike?

Really? I have a policy for a bike that someone else owns, you just state your not the registered keeper surely?
