One night minimum stay!

Valentines is what you make it, im sure she would much rather have a nice romantic dinner in the city and short walk to a travel lodge than a similar romantic dinner in their home town and a taxi ride back to the same old house.

Depending on the guys circumstances and surroundings, a travel lodge could well be quite a plush and romantic gesture!

I would hope there are more romantic places to go than a travel lodge, for a similar price.

Exactly. It isnt that he's cheaped out - £77 for a night at a Hotel buys more than a Travelodge if you know what you are doing. Travelodge are about the most unromantic place you can possibly stay, it's hugely basic and only makes sense when its very cheap.

I paid £42 a night at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham late last year. I'd rather sleep in a tent than pay £77 at Travelodge!

I just found 21 hotels on laterooms for <£77, whether they have available rooms or not I don't know but I would imagine so.

I know a lot of these advertise as single rooms but only show up as two or three nights when you go in, I was booking a weekend away with my girlfriend this week and found that, I want two nights but got linked to a good few hotels who had prices for one and two nights, but you could only book for 3 when you went through to the booking part.

Stupid I know, I imagine valentines weekend is going to be even more pronounced for that with people looking to make a quick buck.

lol whats going on....

Im not going away for valentines days its for a birthday and I only want to go for the night, I have been on laterooms and trust me.....most are 2 nights stay minimum on hotels and bnbs.

Hopefully I can avoid places like travel lodge as im taking her there for her birthday
