OnePlus 5T - a couple of pre-purchase questions

My Nexus 5x is falling to bits. The fingerprint sensor is no longer working (tried loads of stuff including a replacement OEM sensor).

So I want a new phone. My preferred option would be last years Nexus, but they never made one and decided to go all premium with the Pixel range - I just can't justify that sort of money on a phone.

So I've ended up with the One+ 5T. It has (which I really want):

1) Fingerprint sensor on the back a-la 5x
2) Stock (well close to apparently) Android look and feel
3) Nice build quality
4) Good battery

But just before I press they buy button there are some questions:

Q1) Does simply touching the fingerprint sensor unlock the phone?
Q2) How stock look and feel is OxygenOS?
Q3) How much data does China slurp back from the phone? Am I safe !
Q4) Can I put a totally stock Oreo android rom on it without issues or am I tied to OnePLus and their OS upgrades ?

I appreciate your help !

1. Yes extremely quickly.
2. Very good. I loved it coming from stock on my Nexus 5 (marshmellow) It's running Nougat so plenty of new stuff to play around with along with their extra's.
3. Don't know sorry.
4. As far as I know you can put any rom you want on there.

Currently using it the fingerprint sensor is the fastest on the market it's also got face unlock.

Oxygen is very fast with some useful tweaks.

Its very safe

You can use any launcher and rom that gets developed.

Both face unlock and FP are rapid.Feels great back to a stock feel after the mess of MIUI.

Got my 5t yesterday whilst expecting it on Monday. So far really, really like it.

Camera seems equal to the 5x and SO SO much more responsive.

It is a slippery phone though due to the metal body but the included case is a nice touch.

Nothing I don't like in summary
