I'm utterly out of ideas on this one, so thought I'd post
I've been playing online games with a couple of mates over the net for months now, until 2 days ago where it stopped working. If I start a server, and give mates my public ip (82.x.x.x) they can't connect, and if I try to join any of their ip, it still doesn't work - I used to be able to do both fine.
Things I have checked:
1) The ip I'm giving out is correct.
2) I can ping them, they can ping me.
3) MSN works, skype works, web works, emule works, games don't.
4) I connect through a broadband router, which I have correctly given my internal ip (192.168.1.101) for it's DMZ setting.
5) Have turned off both router and cable modem for several minutes before rebooting everything and double checking internal ip for dmz and external for mates to connect to.
6) Norton internet security 2006 turned off. xp firewall off 2.
7) I've even restored my boot partition to a backup created 3 weeks ago. Therefore, the system is exactly how it was weeks before the problem surfaced 2 days ago.
I can only assume that the problems now is blueyonder, but they can't help as all basic services work.
Can anyone think of any more troubleshooting steps? I'm all out.
