Online mapping with ASL?

Hi guys,

Seen as the Tour has got me into the cycling mood again and last year i was promising myself that i would try to do the 8~10 miles on my bike during the summer, does anyone know of any online maps that contain ASL so i can profile my route?

I know that the OS maps contain the contours but i damned if i am gonna log the route marking down ASL after every contour line is crossed! That will take ages!

Cheers

Oh and ASL is above sea level for those who havent heard of that one before.

Until the last sentence I was like.. Maps that contain Age, sex and location information???

Not sure what ASL is, other than age/sex/location. ;)

It sounds like you're after a profile of the hills on OS maps. If so, then Memory Map does this.

Road cycling or Mountain biking? Mountain bike routes tend to be graded Blue, Red, Black, Double Black or Diamond Black in order of hardness.

If you are a roadie just don't pick routes with the lines real close together.

Be a man, clip in, and burn those lungs. Hills are for riding up as well as down.

To answer your question, you need Memory Map UK with the appropraite maps for the area you wish to ride.

What bike have you got?

lol, i knew that would happen! Damn the board for auto correcting my ASL! :D

Ah okay, i might be a cheap skate then and profile the route using iGO (data logging mode) on the way home from work (drive it).

Yeah, i'm a roadie. I want to pick a nice flat route to try and get back into the swing of things. I've lost it compared to the days when we used to do 'The tour of Silverstone' with the lads in the street when i was 14 :(

The closest thing i have done on my bike since then was riding up the hill to kent uni and the sprint finish down to canterbury east train station every morning round the ring road.

I feel like an unfit git these days. Time to get it back me thinks! :D
