As the thread title says really, I plugged in my 5.1 amp to my new mobo with a fresh (OcUK sourced) version of Vista, put a DVD on, digital light comes on, all good so far...

Until the movie plays and I realise the 2 rear speakers aren't on. So I do a bit of prying and find this in the Advanced section of the Realtek SP/DIF settings:

Also, is the jack information only supposed to show L/R:

I'm running the latest version of the Realtek drivers from their website, and i'm using a coaxial SP/DIF lead.

The motherboard is an ASRock 775Dual-VSTA - Manuf link: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=775Dual-VSTA&s=n

I think that's all the info you gurus should need, but if you need to know anything else, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!
James :)

Damn! :(

Also, fancy trying something out for me?

Does this WMV HD clip have sound?

(I don't know WHY they had to put them in .exe self extracting archives :S)

As I don't hear any sound on it... My friend thinks it could be that encrypted output stuff everyone was ranting about a few weeks ago...

Edit: Hmm, I just found a new Realtek driver on their website with the date 26/1/2007, yesterday! I'll give that a try...

On my old nForce 2 mobo on XP I had Realtek AC'97 drivers installed until I went to Nvidia's website and downloaded the full drivers
