only showing two cores on I7 7700k

just bought the I7 7700k and its only showing two cores running. is there something i'm missing or haven't done before i rma it
Ive the latest 1009.cap bios

Coffee lake wont work in my mobo. and the 7700 have gone up in price by nearly £50

Msconfig. Then under boot advanced options. Above number of cores is a tick box uncheck it and reboot then back to msconfig boot and tick the box and see if you can select the right amount of cores. My one only said 2 cores before however speccy said 6 core. Did that for no real reason and it let me select six cores. After that it was massively quicker
