just messing about with my phone and if you're in SMS or email, swoosh to the right on an email or text message and the little delete thing comes up.

Useful?

Think that's on the demo video that was on the Apple website when it was launched. It should be common knowledge, really!

Agreeeee!

But, finding little cool things with Apple stuff is always fun :D

Edit: By the way, you can do it on videos on the iPhone too.

I found that out when i had the touch (email), it's very handy. I actually find moving emails in the iphone quicker than i can on a PC browser.

At least in the v2 firmware we're getting multiple message deletion!

It doesn't bother me yet, as I use Exchange through IMAP - and for some reason deleting it on the iPhone doesn't delete it on the server... so I don't bother. I also can't send emails because I can't be bothered configuring SMTP authentication. But come v2 and ActiveSync support, I reckon I'll use email far more.

If you go in to the advanced settings you can tell the iPhone to move deleted messages to the "Trash" folder on the server, likewise with "Sent" items.

Or you can tell it to delete after a few days / weeks etc..
