Hey all im looking for a little advice, i had a little shunt with a low height concrete bollard the other night and cause a fair amount of damage as you will see in the pictures below. Can anybody recommend a bodyshop and give an idea how much it will cost to sort this.

As you can see the paint has come off in chunks this must have been area where filler has been used as its now down to the bear metal. The driver side door is dented and also sports a nice new scratch.

Just to give you an idea of cost, I got a new wing and headlight + fitting and respraying for £210 and it was a perfect colour match ect. Car was a Mk5 1999 Fiesta btw, dunno what you've got.

Wow, the original repair job looks like it was pretty shoddy in the first place, that is some THICK filler! The car must have a high filler/metal ratio

Assuming that is the rear quarter, you'll have to have a similar style repair if you don't want to be paying through the nose fora replacement panel.

I'd probably say around £400 for a fillin' and a sprayin' that.

A semi decent job around here would cost £200 tops, its just a patch job, i wouldnt be looking to replace any panels for that amount of damage its a fairly easy filler job, and wont need all of the panels spraying as its below the crease line.

Have a quick check in scrap yards.

Got a new boot when the paint fell off (chrysler neon. One year they had a bad paint batch. Got the car for £100 as a result ) for £80. Much cheaper than a respray.

I dont think a replacement panel will be an option its a rather a big one from what i can make out. I was shocked when i got out an saw slabs of my car on the floor i have no idea what accident its been in on the drivers side. I know of a rear end and front o/s accident that was repaired by the previous owner. Most estimates are in the ball park i was expecting.

Now my next question, i wont be able to get into a bodyshop until mid may time, what can i do in the mean time to protect the exposed area.

Also anybody recomend anybody bodyshops there are several in warrington but i dont know who to trust i wouldnt mind travelling a bit further a paying a bit more for a better job.

I have decided i am going to take it in tommorow a friend of the family recommended a place just 5 minutes from my house. Its depressing walking out to my car seeing it look like that :(

Little update on this got it back from the bodyshop and i am very pleased with the results i wasnt expecting the work to be up to much for the price i paid. Altogether it cost me £300 to repair the dent in the door and the missing paint, i also asked them to fix the scuff on my rear bumper. Some pics.

I can't tell when looking at it. But if u tap the repaired area then tap an normal area u can hear the difference because of the filler underneath. It looks ok so im happy.
