Operation Flashpoint 2-Dragon Rising.

I think a few of you are just bitterly upset and making the whole thread seem like the game is quite poor.

Its going to be pretty apparent pretty quick if this game is all hype or substance, a 'classic' as the mags have reviewed it and the marketing has promoted it. Thats about more than just graphics, and no copy protection of any kind or a decent multiplayer option makes you wonder about what else has been left by the wayside. bitterly upset? Disappointed more like that its not going to be the 'game of the year' even you thought it would be.

The graphics look utterly amazing, in what way do you think they are dated Woodster?

The textures are very lowres, the character models are poor, and the animations aren't very good. Saying that the game looks far more attractive on the night missions! Quite atmospheric. Getting quite into it now though. It reminds me quite a lot of the original Ghost Recon

Ghost Recon was superb, but OFP2 is competing with the likes of Arma II, massive landscapes with lush graphics and large scale war ..

Codemasters deserve all the stick and criticism they are getting, for one not delivering the PC game that they promoted with mass online MP battles, secondly for not having some sort of copy protection at least for the limited online feature.

The single player game might actually be decent enough to warrant a purchase but i'd wager the majority of players (PC) were buying this for their online MP fix. Will we get to see a ptach with the dedicated server files ? who knows when thats going to surface..

Well I'm going to install this after work and see how it is.

If they do implement dedi servers then I'll buy it as my clan has been looking forward to this for some time now (they've all cancelled their orders too).

wtf is with the bloody cancelling orders. This is a tactical shooter/war sim. And that only works well with heavy scripting, heavily scripted battles. Someone sneaking up behind you while laying a shot on enemy lines isn't the most realistic of things.

It's a single player/co-op game. If you want multiplayer you should be waiting for modern warfare 2 imo.

Now everyone stop dissing the game, and ruining my excitement :D

It was touted as a MP game, not SP. The people who are cancelling / have cancelled are those that bought it for that reason. There's no doubt its probably good for SP and Co-op but thats not how it was sold to us.

Your excitement still stands providing you are getting what you ordered :-P.

everything i read was regarding the single player. In fact I didn't read anything about multiplayer, and if it really was touted as a multiplayer game the pc got shafted worse than a jewish kid on christmas day.

Sure it is, military tactics has long revolved around the concept of getting behind your enemy and shooting him in the butt. :p

11 missions. about 5/6 hours of gameplay so im told. Hardly groundbreaking.

Ill be playing it on hardcore for the go so hopefully it will take a few nights to complete.

some reviews said 4 apparently, but honestly for those who want the SP side, I truly hope its great (no joke)
