Hi all,
After a bit of advice really. I'm starting a new job in a few weeks which is going to mean a fair bit of driving around the country.
Due to this, I'm going to be needing a reliable sat nav system and would also like a decent mp3 player.
The headunit in my car is the standard lexus manufacturer unit and does not support MP3 playback and does not have any method of ipod/mp3 connectivity (at least, not that I am aware of).

I'd also like an all-in-one in-dash solution, rather than faffing about with cables/charging/windscreen mounts. I'd rather not have a tomtom unit or similar (I already have tomtom on my N95 phone, would like something more 'permanent')

Can anyone reccommend such a solution? I've been looking at the pioneer/kenwood units, such as:
Pioneer AVIC-X1BT
Pioneer AVIC-HD3BT
Kenwood DNX7200.
I believe they can all play MP3 files from CDs, and have optional ipod connectivity kits when can be hidden away in the glove box/centre console etc which would be ideal.

Thanks for any help! :)

I have the Avic X1BT its a great unit, main problem is the DVD drive is in the main unit, since the maps are on DVD you really need to leave the disk in the drive since the internal memory isn't that big.

MP3 on DVD is pants, doesn't work like MP3 on CD iirc.

You want the Ipod interface tbh, works a charm and you get a proper ipod display on the screen.

Fitting it could prove interesting since the box contains a nest of wires, so don't bother unless you know what you're doing.

Owt else just ask.
