Ok the long and short of it is that i can get my hands on both of these kits for the same price. My problem is that i know bugger all about memory, in the past i've always just went for the 2GB kits recommended with whatever motherboard i have for overclocking but 4GB kits are a whole new ball game for me and i understand that it can be harder for overclocking.

G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-6400C5 (2x2GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ)

Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator DHX PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)

My motherboards in a DS3 with an overclocked 6300. Any opinions or offers of pros and cons would be much appreciated.

BD.

Edit - the reason i'm doing this is because i run Vista ultimate and where 2GB used to be fine when i was using XP it doesn't seem anywhere near enough now that i have Vista. I hope i'll see an improvement with 4GB.

please not the Corsair 2x2GB is not Dominator model -- Dominator is 2GB with 2x1GB as the info on OCUK is incorrect -- should not mark as Dominator, check Corsair website >> http://www.corsairmemory.com/products/dram.aspx

just aviod you confused... Dominator is higher speed with low CAS which I have 4x1GB - seem very good one - you can install 2GB or 4GB on Vista 64bits

Lol yeah i hadn't realised they has brought that name back until recently, perhaps i should have ordered that :p

Ok i guess there isn't much known about the G.Skill, as no one has said anything i can only assume that either they don't know or there's nothing bad to be said so i went ahead and ordered it anyway, i'm an impatient bugger and a few days waiting is enough for me before clicking the addiction that is "add to basket" :p

That in itself is a pretty harmless addition it's the "proceed to checkout" that'll bite you in the butt.

The DHX line is not the same as the Dominator line, you are correct. And it should not be listed as such. However, this does not mean it is bad memory. DHX is simply a distinction between our memory that costs less and does not offer the same OCing potential as the Dominator line.
