Hi all,

Just about to order mobo/cpu/RAM upgrades and wanted to make sure i'm getting the best combo for the money since I have made some silly rushed buying decisions in the past :}

Asus P5N32-E SLi nForce 680 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

I have a 640mb 8800GTS, not likely to use SLI but nice to have it incase I change my mind :p
So...can anyone suggest any cheaper/same price + better options or does this look ok? Are there going to be any major releases worth waiting for?

cheers

CPU and RAM look great, but SLI is a total waste of time tbh. I'd personally save some money by picking up an Asus P5B.

It looks fine, if you want to save money but still have the possibility of SLi then I'd suggest the Asus P5N-E 650 SLi which is a lot cheaper and still a good overclocking motherboard. :)

650 (as above), P5B (as above) or a DS3/4 for the mobo. Get the cheapest PC6400 RAM, currently OCuk, then GSkill (not with the gigabyte mobo tho) then OCZ platinum.
