Hello all,

I'm looking to go away for a long weekend somewhere on the south coast (me + mystery person X), some point in late January. I don't know much about places around there so thought I'd ask some of you lovely people if any of the places on my shortlist are a no-no, or if anyone has any yes-yes ideas.

Not looking to spend too much (b&b winter prices aren't bad) and I'll have a car. Requirements for a nice time are:

Beach
Sauna
Chippie
Teddy-bear machines (arcade, etc) nearby
Fields (maybe)
Other attractions are a bonus!

Currently, my places are:

Pevensey Bay
Littlehampton
Lancing

Does anyone have any other suggestions for nice places to go, or have any information to the effect that the above are in fact ***** breeding grounds?

Thanks :)

littlehampton if you like chavs...not the nicest place in the world
lancing is a little better, closer to brighton as well. still not great
not sure about Pevensey Bay

there are some nice places in worthing, has a pier which im sure must have a teddy machine. lots of places to eat and drink.. etc etc

if your after some thing a bit more lively try brighton. massive pier lots to do. loads of clubs pubs, loads of places to eat drink. Brighton marina is pretty cool, has cinema, casino, pubs, restaurants, etc etc..
stay in the nice parts and you'll be fine, avoid the dodgy areas.

if your after some thing a bit more chilled out, try Ferring, Goring, East Preston, All mostly made up of OAP's. some nice places to eat and drink. really not much else to do tho. the downs are close too with some lovely views, so if you like no entertainment and long walks, any of these will do.
there all close to worthing if you get bored.

if historical stuff floats your boat
Arundel is a beautiful town, set slightly inland, lots of things to see including Arundel castle. tho i would check to see if its open when you want to come. Its quite a small town. a few places to eat and drink and some interesting shops to look at. Again its close to worthing and chichester.

Bognor has a butlins :D
