Orange "Magic Number"

Yesterday I went into an Orange shop and got myself a new K800i on the Racoon 35 Tariff. The main selling point of going to orange was their "Magic Number" thing, I asked the salesman if I could add my girlfriend as my Magic Number (She is on O2.. you can see where this is going) and he said it was fine and I needed to ring up today to add it - Now when I went to add it I find out it has to be an Orange mobile number (or OrangeTalk).

Now the way I see it the salesman told me duff info and I am entitled to cancel my contract (it isnt even 24hrs old yet!) - Is this right? Also, if I decided to stay would it be worth kicking up a stink and trying to get something added to my contract, like say... an extra 200 text messages or something from the shop?

What are your opinions? I am quite miffed myself :(
 
Your still within your 14 day cooling off period so you can return it anyway even if they did it correct.

Kicking up a fuss will depend on if the assistant remembers you or not, all they could do is deny everything and you'll get nowhere.

If your really not happy then take it back just saying you don't like it then they will cancel everything.

+ taking it back will make the assistant lose out on their comission from your sale. You get your way & you pee him off.
