Orange - Over 18 restricted websites on WAP?

This weekend the builders outside decided to go through our telephone cable, so i went to read OcUK on my mobile, and its stopped me saying that the website is restricted to over 18s only so i couldnt access it. It gave me the option the have this reviewed so i requested it, and got a text confirming its for over 18s.

WTF is on OcUK that requires an over 18 lock, and how do i go about removing this lock?

Ring them - with proof you're over 18.....

Call them and ask for Orange safeguard to be removed, that'll solve the problem.

As for what makes a site adult only, the company that control the list (which incidentally is not Orange) include 'unmoderated' discussion and chat sites, for which OcUK qualifies (because volunteer member moderation doesn't count for some reason).

Had this when I bought my Wife a new PAYG phone (K510i - Orange)... Annoying thing is when I regestered it for her, I went through all the details including D.O.B... which they checked (Experian) at that time... Tried to view a cuple of Game download sites and go the '18' not allowed thing!...

We then had to go through the checking again to get this removed!. :rolleyes:

You would have thought that when regestering the phone with a D.O.B of 1970 they would have automatically turned this off!...

Their excuse was "Its new legislation and not many of our opperatives know about it yet!"... Great training they have at Orange!...
