Is the GPS function still enabled on this phone? There is no mention of it on the Orange website.

I am still deciding what phone to go for... :(

SPV M700
Nokia N73
Nokia 6300
LG Prada
SE W950i

God this is soooo hard!

It's enabled for the Orange supplied satnav software. It's not available for other satnav solutions on the handset.

Oh right.. So i could not use it for tomtom?

What is the supplied package? It gives no details on the website of it coming with any software... Is it the same one that is supplied with the Orbit?

If Orange does the same as it does for the N95 then the built-in GPS unit may well be locked to the Orange GPS software although I imagine you could easily flash the phone to unbranded firmware @ http://www.xda-developers.com/ (I flashed my old Orange M500 to a T-Mobile updated firmware last week using their instructions)

I have an SPV M700 and have Tom Tom Navigator 6 working on it. The GPS reciever isnt working from the shop on personal retail versions but is supposed to be working on business versions AFAIK.

To unlock the GPS reciever you have to download and install a reg editor. I downloaded PHM reg editor because its free.

You just have to install a reg editor -> HKEY_LOCAL _MACHINE -> CONTROL PANEL -> GPS SETTINGS. In GPS SETTINGS delete the DWORD called HIDE and add a new DWORD called GROUP and give it a value of 2.

Reboot the phone then look in settings -> connections and the GPS icon is now there so you can set up the ports.
