Thinking of rining up orange upgrades as ive got like 2months left of my contract. I want a K800i

Seen this web exclusive deal

basically, 300 minutes + 100 texts = £30/m then you get extra 200 minutes + 1000 text so makes it = 500 mins + 1100 texts

then as an added bonus of 150 3g x-net minutes

SO 650 minutes + 1100 texts for £30/month, can it be beaten?

oh and suppose i might take up free broadband but not sure yet.

i'd go for it. also you qualify for a magic number, and an additional one every 6months.

means you can ring another orange mobile no. of your choice for 59mins 59secs and it only cost/take off 1min! can be used up to 6hrs a day! :)

That's the exact combination of tarrif and offers that I am on - a damn good offer imho.

Be warned that their automated service to tell you how many minutes ytou have left is "broken" (woman at CS says they're looking into it but it's been like this ages) and only reports how much of your basic allowance (300 mins you've used) and does not tell you about the bonus stuff.

For instance, once you've used 300 minutes it'll start telling you you have no minutes remaining even though you do - a call to customer services (and the associated 15 mins on hold :|) and you can ask for the full detail on how many minutes you've got left.

Just rang them and they want me to pay £99 for the handset :(

either that or i could cancel and rejoin and get it free but apparantly i cant keep my number as they cant transfer monthly > monthly numbers.

what a pain. dont know what to do now.

It is unfortunately true that they can't transfer a number from one orange pay monthly contract to another.

Porting a number is only an option from one network to another, or from PAYG to Pay Monthly.

It sucks, and I guess it's to stop people doing what you had hoped to do to save money.

I'd try phoning them back and asking if they can meet you in hte middle on the cost of the handset, it's a bit off that it's free to new customers and see what they say.

They wont drop the £99 handset charge and i cant rejoin on another account because it sais my credit score is low, altough ive never missed a payment in my life never go in the red and can afford the charge but refuse to pay it when i can get it free.

Dont know what to do now. bit disappointing seen as my bills are usually like 45-50 each month and orange have been pritty good over the last 3yrs ive been on them.
