This is off the bay, brand new from a trade seller.

Bought and paid for 2 tyres, and this morning the courier delivered 4. I was out at the time, and the GF didn't know better so signed for them. All she signed for is "two packages".

I've already been left feedback, I'm yet to leave him feedback. Where do I stand on this?

I'm looking forward to the generic hater comments "you should have been in touch with the seller already".

I'd personally just pop them in the garage, if they don't contact you in a few months consider it a BOGOF offer and use them, if they contact you explain you were a bit puzzled and allow them to collect at their expense.

I don't have much time for eBay traders having been messed about by many and the system more than once.

Looking through his feedback, it's not the first time this has happened, a small percentage raging that they've been sent 2 tyres in the wrong size instead of 4.

That is what my plan was going to be, I only need to replace 2, the others have 6mm+ tread left.

Personally, I'd email the seller and then leave it up to him to get them collected at a convenient time for you.

Your choice at the end of the day though.

Change all 4 and then email the seller saying you've been sent 2 new and 2 used :D

Only joking, this happened with me from MyTyres, ordered 1 and 2 arrived. Wasn't at home at the time but did get a phone call from them asking me if I knew? No, I'm at work I told them, in the end they arranged for the extra to be collected but I can sort see how it would be embarrassing if I had known but said nothing.

If I was the seller and this wasn't a one off, I wouldn't be contacting you to make myself look a ****.

Pop them in the garage until queried, job done.

Fit them and if asked say you weren't sure and assumed you'd ordered four. He can come and pay to have them removed from your vehicle if he likes.

If he is a quality business he'll realise and make contact. If you are a quality customer you'll phone him up and tell him. If you fit 4 when you bought 2 it might get messy. Honesty in these situations works well in my experience.
