Hi guys, just ordered my first home cinema/ living room setup after deliberating / reading reviews for the last month or so! Ordered the following:

Samsung LE46A656 46" LCD TV
KEF KHT 3005 Surround Speakers (not the SEs)
Onkyo TX-SR606 AV Reciever.

This will go together with my Xbox 360 Elite for gaming, my MacBook Pro for video watching and my Apple Airport Express for music listening.

Eventually I'm hoping to wall mount it all too, just got to find a way to get the speaker cable to the back of the room for now! (wooden floor).

Will get some pics up when it all arrives. Delivery date for the TV is 16th May though :(

I need some recommendations for speaker cable, subwoofer cable and a universal remote (Logitech Harmony 555 any good?)

:)

I bought the same speakers and a new AV the other week so I had to buy all those bits myself.

Speaker Cable - Van Damme 2x1.5mm UPOFC Studio Grade Blue Series can be bought for around £1.50 per metre, its more then up to the job, thats unless you want a flat or micro cable. QED micro is also pretty good and around the same price.

Subwoofer Cable - I always use Mark Grant for all my phono cables, they out perform cables cost 5 times the price. Just google 'mark grant cales', there amazing well made cables and perform brialliantly, its also worth taking a look at the B stock first, theres a few subwoofer cables on there, I bagged a 3 metre one the other week.

With regards to the remote, I had a 525 for a while, really nifty piece of kit but I still eneded up selling it, the backlit display would go through 4 batteries in a couple of weeks, and I still used a lot of my exisitng remotes becuase I new where all the buttons where, lazy i know :-)

I've got the Samsung M86 40" effort, and quite fancy exactly the same speakers and amp setup, so would defo be interested in some feedback from them.

Got loads of my stuff now:

8m of Mark Grant sub cable (thanks kidloco):

47m of Van Damme (thanks kidloco)

some way of getting speaker cable, aerial cable and xbox live network cable across the room...

Some sexy speakers...

which come in sexy cloth bags...

a sub...

a centre..

some rears...

some fronts...

nice bit of shopping there mate, at least you got the boring bit of sorting out the cables done. Once the tv and amp arrive you can just plug them in and enjoy. Nice tv stand there as well, looks very smart.

Don't leave the door open or hoodies will take your tv.

*There endeth todays lesson* :D

Setup looks lovely, van damme is the only cable il be using when I go surround sound, and Mark Grat cables are all fantastic quality using either canare or belden cable !

Well done mate you'll really enjoy it :D

I'm just about to install (finally) my AV equipment in my new house.

I've gone for the van damme cables the same as yourself after a deal of research they seem to offer the best price v performance.

Can't wait to get it all up as i've got the kef 3005's but matched with a Sony STRDA1200ES amp, i did think of going for the SR606 as it looks like a fantastic amp but as fickle as it sounds the lack of being able to name the inputs put me off so unless Onkyo do a firmware update or bring one out that does im going to stick with what i have.

Give us all a pic when it's all done and dusted ;)

Yep its totally messed up! the cracks go 2/3 of the way across the screen and it's been hit so hard on the front that the screen coating is coming off. thats got to be at least the weight of a person jumping directly on the screen to do that. God knows how they managed to do it!
