Meet Ruairidh, (pronounced ruury) Picked him up from a couple that breed cocker spaniels but due to them splitting up they decided to sell some of their dogs. He’s a 6 month old blue roan cocker spaniel and a total nutter. He also has the biggest tounge I have ever seen, the thing just flops about everywhere. Made me realise how much I missed having a dog on the house since my last dog died a couple of years ago.

Not particularly keen on the name but that’s what the breeders had been calling him so I’m not sure if I should change his name as it might be a bit confusing for him. What do you guys think?

Great looking dog. I was looking at similar breeds and stuff :)

/edit OT Gilly did you decide what dog to get?
No. I refused to have a rat so it has been left til we're in a better position to house one (I'm now a landlord in a town centre pub)

Got a few more pics, he's settled in really well. Was a bit whiney the for the first week or so at night but seems really happy now. He's so much fun :D

He seems to enjoy sitting in mud and eating plants.... strange dog.

Very nice dog!

Probably okay to do it, it's when they've been called the same name for years that it comes confusing for them and they may not respond, but at 6 months it should be okay. My sister got a dog recently from a pair of breeders and she changed it's name when it was 5 month old and it reacts very well to the new name my sister gave it.

Although I guess most dogs turn and look at you anyway if you shout out anything. Like shouting "FWARBLEMARP" in your garden would probably raise the attention of the dog :P

Gorgeous dog, we had a blue roan bitch that died about 8 months ago. Even though I'm at uni anyway, still miss her when I come home, the house isn't right without a dog messing everything up.
