Why we do what we do :

Too keep it brief, for the love of the content in question.
We want to preserve something which is starting to get swept away in the digital age.

The more that time passes, the harder it becomes to locate these classic magazines. And due to the fragile nature it will only get more difficult as time passes.

So by creating digital duplicates we try to save the content and spirit of the original publication, even though it's very hard to recreate the spirit of the magazines when read on a computer screen. That's why we do our best to portray them in such a way that does the original version as well as the original editors, writers, publishers and everyone who created them proud, by cleaning up the spots, blemishes, discolorations, creases and other imperfections that time has added to them.

I remember going to newsagents regularly to look for the latest issues. I've still got a load of mags such as Mean Machines, C+VG, ACE, etc.

Those were the days (when Internet was not widely available ), it is so much easier now to hope on and get up to date info!

loved zzap, had a sub with them irc. really nice find :)

I had a sub with either the amstrad or the amiga mag, didn't last long!

I think I went to a store called martins and purchased a mag then an amstrad tape for £2.99 but damn 2.99 was expensive :D

Crash & Zzap had some really nice artwork, not sure if it was the same bloke, but it stood out from the rest. £1.50 for a mag with a demo tape attached, cant really complain can you

I was like a kid in a candy store when I saw the latest edition out, nowadays i skim through pc gamer and get bored :p

The September 1990 edition of Your Commodore was the first gaming magazine I ever purchased
Great magazine! Brings back many memories

Lump on retro gamer.

Quality magazine, has all the feel and vibe of reading through a crash/zap cvg of the 80/90's. You've any love of games during that era.. you owe it to yourself and the guys just like you that create it to pick up a copy.

Drops through my letterbox every month, count it as one of the best things iv'e done in the last few years.

Brings it all back:)

Lump on retro gamer.

Retro Gamer is awesome. I still have all the magazines & discs from the first run.

I loved Mean Machines:
I ordered my JAP Sega Megadrive with Free IR Arcade Joystick/board and Golden Axe, and my US Snes with Mario from PC Engine Supplies :)

Amiga Format: Got my Amiga 500 (1.3) Cartoon Classics pack from Gordon Harwoods :)

Fun days.

Other mags i used to read was:
Sinclair User, Zap64, C&VG AmigaST Format, St Format, Amiga Format, The One, PC Format, PC Gamer.

I still have a lot of those old magazines from my youth. Sega Power, Mean Machines, Mean Machines Sega, CVG etc. Right through to Dreamcast magazines at which point the internet kicked in! I never got round to getting rid of them because I didnt want to throw them away but wasnt really sure if they were worth much. Most are in great condition too.

I went through a phase as a kid of buying any games magazines from carboot sales with streets of rage in because i loved the game so much at the time!

Lots of fond nostalgic memories!

Good old Amstrad Action

I remember buying that magazine just for the tape on the front cover!

I also remember buying this exact edition of Nintendo Magazine System

Mean Machines was an awesome magazine. The logo is ace as well.

*edit*

I actually remember buying a lot the Nintendo Magazine System editions with pictures on that site. The good old days!

That is an awesome website, think I've got some of the issues of the N64 magazines that they're missing. Might have to dig them out for them!
