Is the prize a nuked graphics card? :D

LOL Close ;)

I think i hit a world record with temps haha, but initially not the story.

Ill give you a clue(by the way i think the standard hsf has had it) i was quite suprised ;)

Sorry cant do pics as ive returned it to its former state, plus for my own self respect as comp builder I dont want you boys to see what i did! LOL

Its flashed with an xfx ultra modded bios by the way and riva tuner unlocked extra quad and vertex, so shes running hotter anyway!

Oh sod it, it reduced temps from 64degrees in ambient to 52 degrees, which i thought was bloody impressive! Under load (running 3dmark06) it didnt go over 59 degrees! :D

Although, and its a big although, it must have come loose after a about 30mins of benching and hit a whopping 155 degrees  Still works mint though :D

how did you fasten it on?

Mate, i tried drilling the heat sink etc but the standard hsf screws are well skinny and wouldnt go in. To peeps less knowlegable bout 6800 hsf screws down from top into a like x piece of plastic with threaded jobs at either corner.
So obviously im trying to find some sort of maybe self tappers but impossible due to how narrow the holes are, you cant make them bigger as a lot of circuitry roots itself around those holes.

So (dont laugh :p ) i found some wire and tied it around the card and the heat sink, as tight as poss without obviously compromising anything else on the board (hense i think it came loose, possibly with heat the wire expanded).

OK not ideal, but i wasnt prepared to waste a load of time if wasnt going to work. So it served a purpose and has given me something to think about :)
