Out with the old in with the New

peterattheboro I can go for hours and hours on a motorway in 5th at 5k RPM, so for me this whole "motorway driving" thing is a a weak excuse

thats not relaxed cruising though, thats working the engine reasonably hard

2k rpm & 5k rpm are two very different states of activity

That's a car I could drive even knowing I wasn't in love with the looks. Just pressing the loud pedal gives it an hourglass figure :D

and when it does it chews through fuel, imagine being able to drive on the motorway, cruise and not burn fuel, i wonder if thats where the term motorway cruiser came from :p

I manage 40MPG, granted with much less power and a much lighter car, while still doing 100mph down a motorway

Besides, fuel is not THAT expensive

Its got a god damn corvette engine in it FFS

whats not to like

Nice purchase.

OP

get a wortec exhaust on it and make it sound like this:

imagine being able to do that at 2k rpm, the reduced stress on your engine over the same distance is really quite a lot.

i think fuel is bloody expensive I don't even (directly) pay for mine :p

At 40MPG I can't complain about fuel costs, as for reduced stress ... my engine is fine with running at higher RPMs for long periods of time

You can get a turbo kit from USA for £400, front mount and everything

get yourself on:

www.hsv.org.uk

If thats the turbo kit i think it is, its got a reputation in the states for cracking turbos as they are cheaply made. Best avoided

Speak to monkfish performance, Walkinshaw Performance or Rapid GB if you want some good sound advice.
