I purchased a pair of these Eglo branded lights back in November last year, they weren't cheap cost a total of £125, worked fine until recently, the PIR sensor still detects movement and turns the light on but it'll turn it back off within a second. I've tried adjusting the time delay setting on the light with no effect. Both units are exhibiting the same symptoms. Any ideas?

just buy the £15 units from screw fix.

these are outdoor lights with many parts on them and electrical stuff all has a life and an even smaller one when you introduce weather into the equation.

if mine dies i buy another for £15 and just replace. it's a really easy job to do as well all you need is a set of ladders and to make sure you turn the leccy off.

Did you get anywhere by chance with this? I have a pair of Eglo lights (different model) that are doing exactly the same thing. One started doign it first, then the other 3 months later.

Is it a dodgy PIR?

None the wiser as to why they do it. There's a bit more detail in this thread.

I'm wondering if it's the relay attracting moisture and interfering with the functioning of it, as the PIR detects fine, activates the light, and doesn't operate again until the timer bit has elapsed. Suggesting the relay could be cutting out prematurely, now whether that's through moisture or a capacitance problem is another issue entirely.
