Overclockers watercooling parts out of stock!

TBH, OcUK's foray into watercooling has appeared somewhat half-hearted.

Whilst Gibbo et al are certainly good overclockers, I'm not sure how much they deal with real (as in not kits) watercooling. I could be wrong and am very willing to be corrected, but I think that might be part of it.

I woudnt order my watercooling from here anyway even if they did stock it to be honest, you need people who know what they are talking about when it comes to custom watercooling & I mean support from OcUK not people on here. Their are places that are dedicated to this area, who know what their talking about & give 110% support whether it means making more or less money from you if that makes sense.

Let them stick to Swiftech Kits. . .

I'm afraid I'm with the others on this. If you decide you need to change to 1/2" from 3/8" and you need to buy 12 barbs - OcUK aren't going to help you. They'll sell you a complete kit, or some high-value parts, but they don't carry the spares and accessories required to support a water-cooling user.

Now, on that basis - I would buy all my parts from a water-cooling specialist as I want that person around when I need assistance.

At the very least you want someone who will make an effort on your behalf, and I don't see that at some major (r)etailers anymore.

You really need a shop that caters for ALL watercooling needs rather than selling the odd bits and bobs. If you are going to sell watercooling accessories then you need a complete range and not just the odds and ends. There are not many stores that have this but there are some out there and you normally find that a specialised store has a greater amount of knowledge and support - essential when choosing the right kit for you cooling needs. I can't comment on OCUK's support in the watercooling area but judging by what the store has in stock it dosn't seem to be something that has been given its full attention at this moment in time, some nice components but without stock its little more than a pretty picture - shame really.

I know there was a thread a while back where a Don (Spie/Gibbo?) seemed very interested in getting some decent aftermarket kit in. Dunno whether this idea has been abandoned or not

Gibbo popped on here about 6-8 months ago garnering general opinions about good WC gear.

However, they do just seem to have stuck with very generic kits/parts that, generally, don't cater for what I would describe as the 'serious' water enthusiast. But then, those e-tailers don't make as much money as OcUK. :)

I wouldn't criticise anyone for not carrying stock as the two main water-cooling specialists I use very often don't have what I want in stock. The difference is they can get it, and usually get it quite quickly.

What is galling is that they usually undercut the big (r)etailers by a fairly sizeable margin and yet they still seem to make a reasonable profit.

there are plenty of specialists out there.. ocuk are a high volume high stock turnover business. They should just leave watercooling to the people who know what they're doing and have the time to invest in their customers.
