Overclocking an AMD 64 4000+ San Diego please help!!!!

if the ram is fine with those settings in prime 95 i would leave it as is, in the slot#1 box in the spd tab you can check the rated timing for each stick individually but if they are running fine there is no real need to change. changing the timings to match the slowest stick may give you slightly more headroom for overclocking though.

going away for the night but will be back on tomorrow night if you need more help.

after all that chipps the settings you gave me as soon as i ran stress test the come restarted it self so i have changed back to the old settings and increased the voltage from 6.6% to 9.9% hopefully that why it crashed before but personally i think it was down to me doing way to much at the time lol. also im getting a max of 44 -45c in my cpu speed at the moment but ive got it at the highest voltage my cpu can take it now. im just hoping having it at the highest isnt going to blow my cpu up lol. what do you think the temps seem ok, least there below 50c but ive took the side panel off at the moment incase i need to reset bios hopefully having the side panel doesnt make it that much hotter well i hope not lol!!!!

try setting your ram manually to 3,3,3,8 as that seems to be the timings for 200mhz in the screens you have shown so if you are running it at 2.5,3,3,7 it may be affecting stability.

how did you get on with the 9.9% setting for voltage ?

what program are you using to check the temps ? try coretemp if that's not what you are already using and see what that says.

to the timing with my current screen mate and it just wont boot any suggestions i had to reset cmos. i use speccy preety decent program. also ive got the volt on 9.9 at the moment and i left prime on for about 4 hours was perfectly fine so these are the best settings at the moment but dont wanna burn my psu out if you know what i mean, any knowledge on me gettingit any more stable or even higher!

First off, how the hell are you running Windows 7 with 2gb RAM?

Second, why are you even trying to clock that CPU? Instead of wasting your time, go out and earn some money towards a new system :P

windows 7 runs fine on machines with 1gb of ram so you obviously don't know what you are talking about. i've had it running on athlon xp's with 512mb of ram and they run ok but use the swap file a bit much but 1gb seems the minimum you would want to use really.

why not try to clock his 4000+ ? if he gets it running as 2.7 or above it will perform almost the same as a sempron 140.

what are the settings that you used that were stable for 4 hours of prime ?
