Ok this is driving me mad. I was playing about in the bios and was upping the FSB by 5 at a time when i got a cant find NTDLR error on restart and wouldnt let me go into windows.

I used the recovery console and tried COPY NTDLR which has worked in the past but it said cant find the file.

I had a back up of my windows partition and tried to copy over the file, that didnt work. Then tried to recover the whole partition from my backup and it still said cant find NTDRL.

So i formatted and reinstalled windows. Everything is working fine but my sound. It says PCI Device not installed in the device manager and that must be the onboard sound? BUt it wont accept the driver!

I installed the audio driver from the motherboard cd, its worked fine before and tried the latest driver from the web but still the same. It seems to install, pc restarts but no sound.

Under sound and audio devices it says no audio device found as though no driver has been installed.

And after instalation i should also have that crappy realtec control panel in the control panel but thats not their either.

Could my OCing have bust me onboard sound? How? Is there any ideas you can give me?

I have never had a problem before, normally just install the drivers of the cd provided and it just works.

Oh i have a Abit IP35 Pro

You wouldn't have accidentally disabled the on board audio in the BIOS by any chance would you?

Failing that, try resetting everything to stock and see if it has any effect.

I checked that and it seems that i have not turned anything off.

And everything is at stock, i cleared the cmos when i was trying to fix the original NTDLR error.
