Good morning!

I'm currently looking to get a new PC within the month as my laptop has just about had it and i'm starting to game a lot more now due to my new job allowing me to work from home :D

So i'm looking for a mini ITX as I just like the aesthetics and minimal room taken up, I especially like the Lazer3D LZ7 at the moment.

Control Measures ;

- 2k Budget to include a Monitor , This can be increased a bit to improve longevity and so me money in the long run

- I believe 144mhz is the preferred gaming res for Overwatch but I'm sure someone could correct me on this.

- Should be able to play Star Citizen comfortably ( When it finally sorts S*** out )

- I can easily stream my games and edit Videos mainly for YT.

- Should probably be easy to build otherwise I'll just end up breaking stuff like I have my laptop, worse case scenario is I get OC to build it for me :p

Thank you for any help in advance, I look forward to hearing your responses!

Regards

Dan

@K888D is the main man behind it all :)

OCUK do have an extended version which would allow gtx 1080Ti mini to fit in - but needs to be updated for core components

My basket at Overclockers UK:
  • 1 x OcUK Gaming KUBE - Custom Small Form Factor Gaming PC = £1,765.00
    • Case Colour:Lazer3D Energy Mini-ITX Case - Black/Green

    • Memory:Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C14 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey (TLGD416G24

    • Security Software:Bullguard Anti-Virus 2017 - 1 PC 1 Year **Offer Price**
Total: £1,779.10 (includes shipping: £14.10)

To have OCUK build it- think its £100-150 on top
i7 8700 6 core 12 threads helps massively with streaming and editing bring it up to compete with ryzen 8 core chips. non k so TDP lower and doesn;t need a river to cool! OCUK doesn't stock gtx 1080 ITX version but least 1070 keeps it in budget- but worth pushing 1080!!

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,932.56 (includes shipping: £11.70)

ryzen 1st gen based to save cash !

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,928.56 (includes shipping: £11.70)

I'm no expert on the matter but I imagine you'll struggle to play SC comfortably with pretty much anything bought today. It's an extremely demanding game and you're only making things harder on yourself by requiring ITX and wanting to stream at the same time. If you're really building with the aim of playing SC you're better off giving up on ITX, streaming and / or waiting for the game to release and buying hardware then. Overwatch however likely won't be much of a problem.

Looks like he's not bothering lately with the forum, shame.

Kube is a great basis for a small system, but it's pretty shameful that they've not updated it for Coffee Lake. Slow sales maybe the reason for both?

I think he's on the small form Forum more and has stated more parts shipping to ocuk .

Yeah, system really needs updating with Delid 8700k or 8700 non K and B360 board

Get a Silverstone SG13, that Lazer case is nice but really limits you on GPU choice.

I've got a modded SG05, it fits a blower 1070.
