P5B Deluxe/ P5W DH PCI-E x1 problem?

I have the P5W Dh Deluxe and ive had it upto 4Ghz and there seems to be no issue with the PCI-X Speeds, will clock it back up now and just check.

Rgds,
Nomisf

Edit : Just overclocked my machine back to 4Ghz , seems fine PCI-E Link speed still reports 16X and ingame performance backs this up.

That's good to hear. Thanks.

How about the Jmicron PATA controller, have you any problems with your optical drives connected to it? Do they run in UDMA and not PIO mode?

just get a samsung dvd drive(sata) and disable the jmicron controler,(i had no issus with it though, just wanted faster start up times)
ps those samsung dvd drives are the dogs m8, they are the only drive i use in my builds
c ya :D

I'd prefer to keep my IDE optical drives, 1 NEC DVD-/+RW/RAM drive + LG DVD-ROM.

Did the jmicron controller slow up startup considerably or only by a few seconds?

why do you prefer ide optical drives? i also had the nec(x2) drives but still changed them as i only wanted 1 controler , controling all drives.
it cuts the start up time considerably(google it ...one guy said his pc used to take 3-4 mins to start but i cant remembering it take that long though)
i updated my bios last night to 1004, dont know why because its been running mint ie 400fsb/1000mhz,no x1 issue, no stability problems and guess what?....got that x1 problem again on pciex lane again :(
only way to stop it doing it is to start pc, load windows, then turn pc off, then unplug fom wall, count to 20,plug back in and start pc again and as if by magic its back to x16 again :D ....does p**s me off abit though, keep starting and stopping my raid0
apart from that m8 ,the board is proberly the best iv owned! lol

It's not that I prefer, I'd rather stick with what I have. I only bought these optical drives last May. Have you tried increasing the voltages? I read on here that it will cure the x1 problem.
