p5e asus resets bios after ive powered off

could it be the battery empty? this is when i switch off at the back off machine ,but is ok in normal shutdown

Yup, sounds like the CMOS battery is dead, go grab a new one they cost a pittance.

also, make sure the cmos switch is in the right position. I had a similar problem with my board and it turned out to be that
