Hi all,

OK, another question I'm afraid....!

I'm going for a new build, and am deciding between these 2 mobos. The other kit I'll be running will be:

- Q6600 or Q9300
- 9800 GX2
- 2GB DDR3 RAM
- P182 case
- Air Cooled (whichever fan is best and fits on the mobo - looking at Tuniq Tower or the Noctua)

So, my question is - which would you guys recommend? I'm a bit worried about the size of the cooler and fan, but from digging around I know the Tuniq will fit the P5E3 (can anyone confirm??), and the Noctua will fit the 790i sideways.

I read a couple of issues people have with 9800 GX2s on the 790i motherboards - has anyone experienced this?

So out of these 2, which would you suggest?

Thanks!

I you are looking for SLi in the future, the 790 is the best option, but you will need DDR3 RAM which does not come cheap.

Yeah, I was planning on getting 2GB of the OCZ 1600MHz DDR3 ram.

I'm now thinking I might just get another 8800GT in SLi instead of a 9800GX2 as well.

Any idea about the heatsink for the mobos though?

Seems that way! It's looking more and more likely I'll go for the P5E3 as:

- It's an ASUS...!
- The RAM seems to have been tested and made specifically for the boards
- Still good OC options
- Stable
- Cheaper

Further to this - I don't know if we have any P5E3 experts around, but can someone tell me please if it's worth getting the 1600 MHz RAM for this mobo? I'm going to get a Q6600 instead of a Q9300 as well, but obviously want to try and get the best out of it all...!
