P5E3 Motherboard. Express Gate Update help

I am a little confused. If some could put straight it would be great.

In the manual it states to update Express Gate use the Express Gate Updater on the CD that came with the MB.

The Updater looks for a .DFI extention, but the latest Express Gate "ExpressGate_Installer_V1280" I just downloaded does not have any .DFI files just .exe files.

If I open the "ExpressGate_Installer_V1280" and run the .exe setup files included, it wants to install Express Gate on my C drive.

Is this correct? I am reluctant to install it on my C drive without confirmation this is the correct place to install Express Gate.

Thanks for the info.

The ASUS web site is very poor at explaining how this works, but what you say makes sense.

Now I have to find the correct file to update the flash card soldered to the MB and uninstall the HD version.

OK. I think I have worked it out, so this is for anyone else who is confused.

As far as I can tell the latest Express Gate .DFI file can be downloaded here...

You then use the Updater provided on the CD that came with the motherboard to locate the .DFI file and update Express Gate.
