Tried entering the BIOS and saving settings? The new flash prolly just cleared the settings, hence the checksum error.

Yes all you need to do is enter the bios, load default settings or set it up like you previously had it and save those settings.

This is annoying was set to buy 2moro morning but after reading that I think i will stay away from the P5W unless Asus makes some changes and quick! any1 know if the MSI 975X Platinum or DFI Infinity 975X are up to much? or should i take the risk that Asus get it right and go for the P5W?

Choice can be a terrible thing!

How does this equate to a problem? When you update a BIOS it usually clears the information of the previous BIOS, since its a new BIOS and hence you get the checksum error and/or CMOS settings wrong error, simply loading defaults or setting up previous settings will sort that matter out, pretty straightfoward, you'd get the same error if you cleared CMOS or took out the battery for too long. The only way i see this as a problem is if you did enter the bios, and saved but still receive those errors, which i don't see mentioned.

It's advised that you clear the CMOS after flashing this bios anyway ;)

Certainly not something worth putting anyone off buying the mobo.

exactly, i think his Asus updater cleared it anyhow, so no need to clear manually via jumper (nifty so you don't need to open the case lol).

Wish the P5B Deluxe was crossfire compatible :( Will any 965 chipsets be xfire compatible?
