Guys I have just received my P5W DH Deluxe board and noticed the serial number starts with 66M0AG.
I know this is not the latest version but will it pose any problems.
Also when I opened the box a bios chip fell out. Luckily there is a chip fixed to the board, am I right in assuming this is a spare.

Hmmm..

There was no spare BIOS chip with my 66M0AG P5W-DH, but it also didn't work with Conroe at all until I got another pre-flashed chip from Asus. You'll either find that the chip you've got in there now is the one that has been flashed, or the one that fell out of the box is the one you've got to put in yourself.

Is there any writing on either of the BIOS chips?

Also what do you mean by "why is there no SATA2 port" ?

The BIOS chip that fell out of the box is the exact same as the one fitted to the board.

Sticker on top of both BIOS chips shows: -

WDH09
0701
B896
F15 13

What BIOS do you need for the E6600 to work.

Yes according to the pictures there is no SATA2 port although the motherboard shows the markings for it.

If you read the reviews, one of the 4 SATA ports is actually shared as the SI SATA controller which are the 2 SATA ports at the bottom of the board :)

w3bbo You got the P5W DH Deluxe board then.

Yup, don't get me wrong the P5bdlx is a good board(or I am sure it is when it isn't faulty) but having the xfi card in the bottom slot (only option with p5b) was causing me headaches as I need splitters on the back which didn't fit with it being in the bottom slot. With the p5WDH there is much more room.
I wanted a 64pro but was 'reliably' informed that a lot fof them had been recalled for some reason- could have been BS due to them being out of stock at the time.
