Where you least expect me
can anyone who owns a p6t or the se version please tell me how the PCIe slots are arranged as im finding diamgrams on the internet confusing.
Will i be able to crossfire on it and have a sound card obviously in 16x/16x/4x
Id really appreciate any help as im building soon and need to finalise my motherboard selection.
Many thanks

thanks for that hovis
do you know if i can physically fit to graphics card and a sound card in there.
do gpu's take up two slots on the p6t se

Looking on Asus website gives you a nice piccy. Any double slot card, and that's most of them these days, is going to be just about right against the card below it.

Don't the Asus P6T boards have a reputation for unreliability?

thanks for that looks like a tight squeeze but seems possible.
@ unreliablility, i havent heard but thanks for bringing it to my attention ill do some research about that.

aparently so there are a few forum discussions about p6t based mobos having high failure rates on some of the hardware review sites put me right off that board.

think ill go with teh gigabyte ^^

Now I am having a heart attack, I've just gone and ordered the P6T  . Where were you folks when I was asking for help with my spec?

I get through a lot of boards in the office here, trying crazy stuff with voltage and all sorts and I've only blown up 1 of the P6T series boards I've had on my bench (Of about 10, from the first P6T engineering sample to the P6TD now).

The P6T engineering sample's still going strong with a 940 at 4.0 in my home rig. :)

Edit: I forgot to mention, if your P6T develops a fault and you've bought it from OCUK, you'll be able to take advantage of our 5 day RMA turnaround (Assuming the damage isn't customer induced, but a fault with the board, of course.)

P6t deluxe v2 here, very solid, havent had a single issue with it, very nice bios layout as well, very straightforward to overclock on.

Thanks a lot for all the feedback guys
it seems this motherboard selection will be harder than i initially thought :p
at least the reliability thing is cleared up
two board ive yet to decide between: P6T SE, GB UD3R
once again thanks

In honesty, both are very good boards. Some people prefer one over the other for varying different reasons :)

(Obviously I'm biased, so will say buy the Asus, but talking from a consumer point of view I've not had any bad experiences with any of the P6T series to date.)

Never noticed that the ud3r only had 4 dimm slots, when i was looking at x58 boards i looked at mainly the ud5 and p6t dlx v2.

after a bit more research im going to get the UD3-R i read what you all had to say and checked reviews and since im going to have 6bg in tri channel iim pretty sure the lack of 6 memory slots will annoy me. oh yea and its cheaper :)
Thanks to everyone for the help and look out for a thread next mounth in general hardware with my build :D
